A mid-shelf gaming laptop.
Just a typical consumer laptop with a pretty good finish and strong performance. An additional advantage over the competition is the pleasant, subdued design and the normal character font on the keys.
Unfortunately, like probably every Dell laptop with 10th Generation Intel Core processors - it heats up mercilessly. And this unit apparently found this out for itself, because it failed less than two years after purchase. That's when it ended up in my collection. Although I personally suspected a graphics chip defect, the service technician diagnosed a processor failure. While the laptop boots and works with GNU/Linux distributions, Windows completely refuses to work to the point that even the installer from a flash drive gets stuck in a boot loop. Unfortunately, repairing the motherboard is uncertain and uneconomical.
This device is currently lying forgotten in a box, waiting for the days of cheaper motherboards. The previous owner switched to a successor, the G15 5530, although the new model has a slightly weaker RTX 3050 graphics chip.
