HP EliteBook 840 G8

The last model of the EliteBook series with a trackpoint and 16:9 screen.
The EliteBook series targets the higher end than the ProBooks, which are competitors to Dell's Latitude series or Lenovo's (formerly IBM) ThinkPad.

The G8 generation uses the same chassis as the G7, and differs only in newer components. Although this seems like a small step forward, the 11th generation of Intel's Core series processors has finally made the technological leap, resulting in a laptop with better operating culture, much higher performance, and an integrated graphics chip (labeled G7 in the processor model) with performance approaching Nvidia's GeForce GTX 750 Ti, which is a surprisingly good result.

My main laptop, a worthy successor to the Dell Latitude 5411, which disappointed.

This unit doesn't have a fingerprint reader or infrastructure for an LTE modem, so instead of a reader and nano SIM card tray there are plastic plugs.
This device survived a fall, which resulted in the replacement of the top cover with the keyboard and the display.
