Nokia 3310

The hero of Internet memes about the “indestructibility of old devices”, the successor to the very successful and popular 3210.

The Nokia 3310 relative to its predecessor is smaller, but has taken on a “bar of soap” shape. Structurally, the phone has changed drastically, with the addition of vibration, a couple of new features and games, and a change in the way the display is connected to the motherboard to make it more durable. Fortunately, the element around the screen, which is no longer painted, has been improved, and the rear panel's catches have been slightly strengthened. The ability to replace the case and compose ringtones has been carried over from the 3210.

Nokia squeezed everything possible out of the 3310, and the 3330, 3410 and 5510 models were created based on it. The last one was done so brazenly that the inner chassis was simply encased with an extra one, which resulted in a rather comical sight when the rear case was removed. Going back to the subject of the article, it was also produced for quite a long time, until 2005, long after the appearance of models with a color display and polyphonic ringtones.

This unit is from a later production batch and shares a motherboard with the 3410.
