An iconic device, considered the best Nokia cell phone ever.
A successor to the 6210, it is heavily based on it.
The Nokia 6310 appeared on the market in 2001 and, taking much of its predecessor's design, introduces GPRS support, higher display resolution, built-in Bluetooth and much longer battery life. The system itself has also become snappier and richer in options.
In addition, thanks to ADPCM sound support, there was a voice recorder function and, interestingly, a startup sound (later used on the 6510), which can be heard here:
The sound was recorded from the Nokia 6510's audio output. On the 6310/6310i, identical playback is provided by the call speaker or a connected audio accessory (such as a headset) in the same way.
Similar quality recordings of the sound recorder function are played back in the same way.
For comparison, the original audio before it was compressed for the device sounds like this:
After a year, an improved (seen here) 6310i was introduced with a changed color of the screen backlight and keys, support for another GSM band (1900) and support for Java (J2ME), known from the earlier Nokia 3410.
This unit comes from the Polish Idea network and had a SIM lock.
