Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate

An example of the crazy ideas of American operators.

This phone is a modified Galaxy S, sold on Verizon as Galaxy S Fascinate, and some others as Galaxy S Mesmerize or Galaxy S Showcase. Anyway, there were far too many variants, models and names. Welcome to the phone market in the United States!

The Galaxy S was an interesting device with very good specifications at the time, which took Samsung up as one of the major smartphone manufacturers in the market. The Galaxy S series still exists today and more coupons are constantly being cut off with higher and higher numbers.

Back to this particular model. Apart from changes such as four touch and backlit buttons under the screen or a flash under the camera, compared to the "global" version (i9000), this phone does not have... a SIM card slot.
What's more, due to the fact that it doesn't support GSM or UMTS standards, but only variants of CDMA technology, you can't call, read or send SMS messages in Europe. Also there is a factor that prevents the use of the manufacturer's system, because it requires activation by logging on to the network, which, as I mentioned, on the Old World is not possible.
Therefore, to use this device at all you need to install an unofficial system, such as CyanogenMod. Additionally, this allows you to use battery from i9000, because normally this smartphone does not support it.
